The single-vineyard Godello 2021 Ededia was sourced from a 0.35-hectare 39-year-old plot planted with the old Godello clone in the zone of Treval in the village of Rubiá, where the soils are rich in clay and limestone. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, where it was kept in contact with the lees for 14 months. The nose is quite open and a little evolved, with hints of honey and caramel intermixed with notes of chamomile and something peachy, complex and nuanced in a way that reminded me of some whites from Jura. It has a chalky feeling in the palate with pungent flavors and a long, silky finish, fine-boned, lifted and with tension. 1,095 bottles were filled in May 2023.
