L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 Corral de los Altos is their own interpretation of a 45-year-old plot of 2.1 hectares of Garnacha planted on a north-facing stony part of the village, from the lieu dit Corral de los Altos that is also used in other wines. It fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured in used 500-liter oak barrels. It has a bright ruby color and an expressive and open nose with wild berries, herbs and flowers, clean and varietal. This is serious, has contained ripeness, 12.95% alcohol, very good freshness and a medium to full-bodied palate with classical chalky tannins. With great finesse with marked minerality, this is a new step up in this wine, the finest version to date, getting closer to Malayeto. Amazing value. 7,300 bottles were filled in January 2023.

Tim Atkin:

100% Garnacha from a single vineyard area, this is a deliciously accessible red, complex in its simplicity. The nose is very pretty with rosemary, rose and red cherry fruit, complemented by crunchy acidity and chalky tannins which give the wine a morish lift. This is a lovely expression of the vineyard. 2024-28
