L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2018 Serral del Vell was produced with a blend of 85% Xarel.lo and 15% Macabeo from the vineyard that names the wine, 41 hectares from which they selected the grapes from two plots of Xarel.lo planted in 1996 and 1997 and two plots of Macabeo planted in 1989. It was disgorged in December 2023 after 57 months in bottle with the lees. 2018 was a rainy year with good yields and freshness. This has a spicy note of cloves that I also found in the 2010 Turó d'en Mota and some of the still whites from Can Credo. It has 11.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.06 and 5.1 grams of acidity. It's super tasty, with pungent flavors of herbs, flowers and spices with some smoky hints from the contact with the lees. It has a lively palate, quite direct, persistent and mineral. 63,000 bottles produced. - Luis Gutiérrez.
