Blackberry, pine-cone, bark and fresh-thyme aromas follow through to a full body with firm tannins that are wonderfully polished and balanced. Fresh finish. Such polish and beauty to this. It goes on for minutes. So enticing now, but better in a year or two.

The 2018 Nico By Luca Malbec comes from the Rosas Vineyard planted in La Consulta in 1939. It fermented in 500-liter oak barrels, 50% of them new, where the wine matured for 20 months, despite which the wine is not oaky but shows some spicy and smoky undertones. It has a mixture of flowers, berries and herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and citrus freshness with notes reminiscent of orange peel. 2,500 bottles were filled in September 2020.
