The Wine Advocate:

The old-vine 2019 El Puño Garnacha was sourced from vineyards on slate soils. It fermented in concrete vats with extended maceration and aged in used, well-seasoned 500- and 650-liter oak barrels for 20 months. This was very aromatic and showy, closer to the new Mata Quemada bottling, with herbs, flowers and spices (nutmeg), balsamic and herbal, with an open color and a very expressive nose. The palate is medium-bodied and the tannins very fine. It's ripe without excess at 14.27% alcohol and tasty with integrated oak. It feels like a step up from the 2018. Bravo! 2,979 bottles were filled in August 2021.
