Ca'n Xicatlà 2021

The blanc de noirs 2021 Ca'n Xicatlà, produced with Mantonegro grapes, has a very similar color as the rosé from the same variety, but the aromatic profile is very distinct. It's a different biotype; this is a plot of old vines that give higher yields and higher sugar (hence higher alcohol, 14%). It fermented in new and used 500-liter French oak barrels, and the influence from the wood is lower than in previous vintages when all the barrels were new. It's still spicy and smoky, but it's subtler and the wine has energy, volume and freshness to take it. 2,100 bottles were filled in October 2022.
